Camps are usually 3 days and are often where we see our best results.

Perhaps this is because of the immersion in nature with the horses, the whole family together and an extended tribe of other autism families and carers.

Playdates and Horse Boy Session

playdate-clue

The ideal playdate is not a child riding for an hour and then going home. This does not make much sense to the autistic mind which can take a long time to transition from one environment to another.

Also, it doesn’t involve the family enough and the rigidity of the time frame makes it stressful for the people working with the families.

The ideal playdate therefore is open ended. Families come out for the morning or the afternoon (usually 3-4 hours).

Community Outreach

Horse Boy COPS

We also take our horses downtown to work with children there. We call this Horse Boy COP (Community Outreach Program).

Bringing a horse into a child’s known urban or suburban environment can be a very magical experience.
