Pen Llyn Lusitano Stud and Riding Centre is the leading Lusitano stud in the UK. Started by Marcia Pendlebury, and her husband Keith, over 30 years ago the centre began breeding Lusitanos in 1994 with the introduction of their foundation stallion, Hilario by Marcia's daughter Janine. Janine has worked with some of the best Portuguese trainers and is renowned in her field for her training skills and extensive knowledge of the Lusitano Breed.

Pen Llyn has been breeding Lusitanos since 1994 with the introduction of our foundation Conde Belo Stallion stallion, Hilario. The stud grew from strength to strength and has now become the largest in the U.K. and the only one to hold the bloodlines of the best and most important Lusitanos of the century with mares from Champion bullfighter Opus 72 and John Whittakers showjumper Novilheiro. We continually breed high quality lusitanos with proven results and often have a variety of youngsters for sale.

We have 3 breeding Stallions, the only Pure Veiga Stallion in the UK, Uivador Da Broa, Cajarim, National Stud and Samorim, Jose Henriques Casquinha. Click on the pictures to find out more.

Uivador Da Broa is awarded Recommended **** studhorse by the APSL, the first and only Luistano in the UK to have this status.

Uivador Da Broa has achieved fantastic success winning the Chamipon Male at The international Festival of the Lusitano in 2008 and then winning UK Champion of Champions 2009. At the LSBSGB show 2009 his progeny all won their classes with Capriole being crowned youngstock Champion and overall Female Chamipon and Charneca winning the Part-bred Championship. Uivador has received 2 gold medals and in addition to these honours has now been awarded the prestigious Recommended **** studhorse status by the APSL which is only awarded to the highest quality stallions that the APSL recommend for breeding.<p >Uivador, bred by Manuel Travares Veiga, is the first stallion in the UK to be given this status and is available at stud by AI, frozen and chilled semen (available from Twemlows Stallion AI services).
